If applicants and their parents want to know whether the dating scene at a particular college is geared more towards wild hookups or traditional relationships, the best barometer will always be the ratio of women to men on campus.
And, no, it’s not the mostly male colleges where the hookup culture reigns supreme. Because the way today’s heterosexual college students describe sex and dating at their own schools matches up with the scholarly research on gender ratios and how they affect behavior.
So, the survey isn’t representative of the entire country — let alone Boston.

Atlanta sports fans have a bold new choice for news and information about their favorite sports teams.
Dating Ring collected 18-months’ worth of data from 1,600 people and 7,500 date feedback reports to determine “dateability.” According to a release, “the ‘dateability’ score was calculated based on the percent of people who said, ‘Yes, I would like to go on a second date with this person,’ to daters from each college.” And, if the rankings are accurate, Babson alumni aren’t going on many second dates.
The college took the number one spot for having the least dateable alumni.
